Can Bitcoin infiltrate the brand area? Employees believe so

It might have had a bit of a slow start, but a fifth of UK employees believe that their businesses will be accepting Bitcoin and other comparable digital currencies as payment by 2020.

Meanwhile a third of workers believe that their businesses should be equipped with a 3D printer by 2020 and enhancing customer experiences by giving 3D printed merchandise downloads instore.

14% state that they should see drone delivery services introduced and 15% anticipate try before you buy augmented reality support to be incorporated into their existing buyer journeys.

The results come in Beyond Digital, a new report from Infomentum, in which UK employees are asked to share what they feel is the future of business and retail as new technology change how companies market and market and what customers expect from the companies they engage with.

Vikram Setia, spouse and chief commercial officer at Infomentum, said the results showed striking changes were coming from the present buyer travel arrangement. “By 2020, products may be previewed in AR, paid for at Bitcoin, created to order through 3D printing, and delivered by firing to a customer’s door. All while being tracked and handled through the real time feedback of social networking,” he said.

“While this array of new technologies might seem daunting for most companies, retailers must be prepared to take into consideration how such tools will influence their companies at a long-term strategic level. The ones that fail to develop the necessary technology roadmap will have already fallen behind.”
