Influencer-promoted products were purchased by half of Britons in 2017

With more than half of adults in the UK buying Influencer marketing campaigns have demonstrated to be an effective approach in 2017.

Their buying decisions had been affected by New research by affiliate network affilinet polled 2,293 UK adults aged 18-30 on which they believed over the last 12 months. The results show that young consumers are more inclined to look to YouTubers, bloggers and influencers as resources of purchase information.

63 percent of the surveyed reported they see or read articles generated by their influencers or longer. A further 28% thought they consumed this kind of content on a fortnightly basis.

Influencers that this age group follow’s amount is larger than perhaps most people would expect. When asked the number of people they make a conscious effort follow or to subscribe to along with the ordinary answer came out at 18.

Inspiring purchases

The participants were also asked about the sorts of purchases they’d made as a result of influencer promotion. 51% stated they had made a minumum of one purchase due to seeing the product promoted in the last year.

Clothing things came out in addition to the listing of products bought, with 44 percent of those surveyed stating they bought something they had observed an influencer wear plus they’d promoted. This was followed closely by make-up and beauty products (36%), video games (21 percent) and furniture or home furnishings (16%).

The amount spent on products was estimated to be285.

“It appears that influencers will be the new A-listers when it has to do with inspiration for how we dress, look, decorate, cook and live our lives,” Richard Greenwell, Head of Affiliate Development in affilinet, said.

“Not only are many YouTubers and bloggers relatable in the sense many of them still reside relatively ‘normal’ and down-to-earth lives, there’s also the belief in many customers’ minds that they can much more easily attain the lifestyles of a few of the well-known and effective influencers if they put up their own blog, YouTube channel or Instagram page.”
